Happy New Year!

2024 is shaping up to be an even busier one for us than the mania of last year. So let’s cut to the chase..

Here’s a list of NEW regular groups starting at the Gregson Centre in 2024. This list will be updated as the month goes on so please keep checking back and keep up to date with our socials for more info!

Rock n Roll Dance
Starts January 7th – Learn to dance jive and stroll to the rock n roll hits of the 1950s, 60s and 70s.

-Stained Glass Course
Starts January 9th – Learn how to cut glass into shapes and lead your pieces together to produce a stained glass window to your own design in this 12 week course

-Over 55s Contemporary Dance
Starts 9th January – An opportunity, to dance, to move, to learn, to grow but most importantly to have fun alongside a group of like-minded souls.

Vocal Improvisation
Starts 9th January – Share simple structures for making music together using your voice in various ways. In this form of improvisation anything goes – there is no right or wrong and all contributions are valued.

2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month 12.30-2pm – Find out more here

-Adult Ballet
Restarts 9th January – Join international artist Zoey Jones for weekly ballet classes for adults. These classes provide a supportive and welcoming environment to have fun and try something new.

-Hidden Gems Film Group
Starts 9th January – a place to share all those strange obscure films that everyone discovers and loves but no one else seems to know about.

-Charleston Course
Starts 10th January – Step into the Roaring 20s where, whatever your dancing ability, you’ll meet new friends, get fit and have fun.

-Mindful Sewing
Starts 10th Jan – Unleash your creativity in the cosy Gregson Bar. Bring your project, if you have one, or use the textiles provided to practice embroidery and sewing techniques.

-Contemporary Dance Course
Starts 11th January – Join George from LPM Dance for this 6-week contemporary dance course – suitable for all abilities!

Craft and Chat
Taster session Jan 15th – Come along and join our craft and chat group: enjoy learning how to crochet, cross stitch, do diamond art or hone your own craft project, and most importantly have fun and make new friends

-Capoeira Angola
Starts January 16th – Join the Capoeira Angola OGUM Group in sessions exploring Capoeira Angola, an afro-brasilian art-form merging dance, music, and martial arts.

-Adventure Film Club
Starts January 27th – Monthly screening of the most adventurous films covering running, climbing, cycling, travel, skiing, watersports and more.

Mindful Drama
Restarts 3rd Feb – Relaxed, welcoming and encouraging drama workshops, specially designed for people who identify as introverted, quiet, anxious and socially phobic.

Abstract Art Course
Starts Feb 7th – This four-week course in Abstract art allows students to explore lots of starting points, and a variety of art materials.
