Stained Glass Course

Age Range: 16+
Ability Level: All abilities welcome

Students will learn how to cut coloured glass into shapes and then join the pieces together using lead to make a stained glass panel. This should take 2 weeks, then students will be free to design and make their own project with advice and guidance from the tutor, Sarah.

Students can also learn how to use the copper foil method and how to fuse glass.

All tools are provided and materials are provided at cost. If students prefer to buy their own materials, Sarah will advise on this.

About the Tutor – Sarah Walkley

Sarah trained as a stained glass artist at Vetrate Artistiche Toscana in Siena, Italy, one of the first studios to experiment with fused glass.
Sarah has been creating stained glass windows and decorative fused glass for 30 years and has windows installed in many public buildings, schools, churches and homes across the UK and Italy. She had a studio in London and in Kendal before moving to Dolphinholme recently.
Sarah’s love of animals and quirkiness influences the subject of her designs and her interest in ceramics and textiles inform her style. Sarah’s work is brightly coloured, joyful and exuberant.
