Willow weaving - Make a driftwood wall hanging

Take time out for yourself, learn a new skill and enjoy the creative process.

In this workshop Amy Gunawan will show you how to make a driftwood wall hanging.  You will be using a flat weave technique to weave different shapes such as stars, hearts, fish, suns, mini wreaths etc. You can make a mix of different shapes or all the same.

There will be a selection of driftwood and chunky willow sticks to choose from.

All materials and tools will be provided.

The willow varieties provided will vary depending on what is available at the time.

About the Tutor – Amy Gunawan

A Lancaster-based willow weaver and basketmaker, Amy loves to share her skills with others.  She shares her understanding of how willow behaves as well as the sensory experience, the rustic textures and the beauty and warmth of working with a natural material.

Amy runs a regular programme of basketry workshops and sells her work at local fairs and on her website.
