Two men sit and make plastic plane models

Models for Heroes

Age Range: 18+
Ability Level: All abilities welcome
Upcoming dates: Fri 3rd May, Fri 17th May, Fri

Are you a veteran or serving member of the armed or blue-light services?

If so, these free drop-in model-making sessions are for you.

Model making is an absorbing and rewarding activity which can take your mind off other things.  The sessions are also an opportunity to socialise and meet new people.

Come and try a new hobby, pick up new skills, or revive old ones. If you already make models it’s an opportunity to meet new people.

Model kits (of a wide range of subjects) and materials are provided free of charge and experienced modellers are on hand to provide help, whatever your previous experience (or lack of it).

Or you can just drop in for a brew and a chat!

So come along and give it a try!

First and third Fridays of every month.

About Simon (session lead)

I have lived in Lancaster for 40 years and I retired this year from the Civil Service.

I have been volunteering for Models for Heroes for about 5 years and have been modelling for about 55 years.

I am a long-standing member of a modelling society and have been successful in several competitions. I built some models for a local museum.

I have a relaxed, open approach to guiding newcomers to the hobby, and enough experience and contacts to help established modellers.
