Hymns for Robots - All-dayer

Age Range: 12+ (under 18s must be supervised by an adult)

For the third HfR all-day show Hymns for Robots are pleased to be featuring the absolutely peerless Scanner, the not to be missed (non-Warrington-Runcorn) debut set from Gordon Chapman-Fox, Kinbrae, Ben Chatwin, Lo-Five, Cholly, Guerrilla Biscuits and Subordinate Clause.

Scanner: Robin has been creating innovative and inspirational works of contemporary electronic music for a long old time and we are beyond excited to get him up here for a rare show in the north…

Gordon Chapman-Fox: taking a well-earned break from his Warrington-Runcorn duties Gordon will be showing us what other musical notions swim around his head…

Kinbrae: making ambient, experimental music that uses field recordings as a key thematic tool, inspired by the intersections between sound, nature/place, climate change and mental health.
The Truscott twins have been heralded as two of the most exciting composers working in the field of contemporary classical and electronic music today.

Ben Chatwin: combining brutalist rhythms with drifting strings and synths, to create music that is at once abstract and cinematic. Working primarily with modular synths and other hardware Ben creates densely layered soundscapes with sweeping emotional resonances.

Lo-Five: we’re over the moon to be featuring the endlessly creative and super prolific Neil Grant’s primary creative outlet. With releases on Castles in Space Neil creates tape-worn melodic soundscapes that reflecting the theme of consciousness. Neil also runs Emotion Wave events in Liverpool and the Wirral, designed to showcase underground electronic artists.

Cholly: experimental electronic pop artist sourcing sound design ideas from the sonic ether. Cholly alchemises all tones and timbres that strike her curiosity into pulsing electronica, wistful future garage and lo-fi art-pop grooves.

Subordinate Clause: Techno…and then more techno…

Guerrilla Biscuits: Glitchy beats & filthy grooves – created, mixed & mashed in real time.
