Help Make the Gregson Accessible!

The Gregson is a safe and inclusive space for everyone in our community.

We need your help to raise £1,225 to buy a ramp so everyone can use our new stage.

Our community led charity’s mission is for people to be in the driving seat of their community events and cultural experiences. That means everyone! We need a ramp to allow wheelchair users and those with reduced mobility to share stories, sing and perform on our stage.

Last year we hosted 122 gigs/performances and many of the city’s key cultural events including Lancaster’s Jazz, Music and Literature Festivals. With the Gregson busier than ever, a ramp is essential.

Inclusivity and accessibility are at the heart of our charity’s values. Our community has installed a lift in the centre, runs Accessible Open Mic Nights and is always looking to improve… With Lancaster Music Festival’s support an access audit of festival venues was carried out by Attitude is Everything. Horrifyingly, this showed NO venue had an accessible stage. WE HAVE TO CHANGE THIS.

THE GOOD NEWS IS Lancaster Community Fund have awarded £1,000 to the new ramp – now we need your help to raise the final £1,225.

As one of the key performance venues in the city, we would be proud to make Lancaster’s creative scene more inclusive.

We’re an independent charity with no core funding. The bulk of our income comes through our Cafe Bar but donations are essential! Last year we made an additional 50% on our bar profits from donations – that’s one off and monthly support from our community. Without this support we would not be able to keep our doors open.
