Singing with Dementia
Age Range: Anyone affected by dementia
Ability Level: All Abilities
A new supportive and social music group for those affected by with dementia.
We’ll be using the therapeutic power of song and music making – to bring people together, who are living with dementia and their carers. The sessions will be relaxed and informal and will be hosted by 2 experienced community musicians and a team of volunteers. Together we’ll listen to, and create and sing along to well known songs over a cup of tea and a biscuit (or 2!) Expect friendly faces, kindness, laughter and singing – but also with no pressure to join in.
As this is a pilot project you will also have the opportunity to shape and guide the future of the project, including what it is going to be called. We’ll be asking you what you’d like to sing and what else you’d like to see from the project on a more long term.
