About Jo and Anna (musicians)
Jo and Anna create a sound that is full of energy, individuality and sensitivity, with Anna’s driving rhythms and melodies and Jo’s soaring improvisations. They are well known on the balfolk scene, having played together over many years at informal sessions and dance events. Anna also plays with trio Oscina and in collaborations with Dave Shepherd and Nigel Eaton, whilst Jo plays in ceilidh band Hekety, Fernleaf trio and with minimalistic improvisation group Emergence Collective.
As a duo, they apply their unique and very danceable style to a variety of popular and lesser-known tune repertoire from across Europe, along with their own compositions.
