Trembling images run a monthly film club alternative films from New Hollywood to the Soviet avant-garde.
Their programming mixes so called ‘high’ and ‘low’ brow works, works from across different genres and works from around the world. Whether you are interested in the New Hollywood, J-Horror or the Soviet avant-garde they will probably have something for you! Screenings will feature accompanying pamphlets/zines
All events are pay as your feel, donations support the group to run more screening and pay for events costs. You can find out more on their Facebook page.

Well that’s a secret! But members of our cinema mailing list (click to join) are emailed film titles at the beginning of every month. We also advertise all screenings in the centre on our Cinema Noticeboard on the main staircase and give clues as to what we’re screening on our socials.
The cinema is a non commercial cinema room meaning we can only share film titles in this way – true to the Secret Cinema experience, if you’d rather we kept it a secret, just rock up and see what’s on.

Sensory advisory: The cinema is equipped with surround sound. The volume can be controlled by the event lead who will be there on the day. Please be aware that additional advisories will vary from film to film.
Low light zone: when you enter the room, the lights (LED) will likely be on. These are turned off when the film starts, making the space a low light zone.

Food & Drink can be consumed in the cinema, and you can even order food straight to your seat, delivered takeaway style, by scanning a QR code in the room. Check the menu out here. You can bring food/drink into the cinema with you from elsewhere but only alcohol purchased in the Gregson can be consumed in the cinema.
Private events – The Secret is getting out and our Cinema is becoming a popular venue for private parties for little humans and grownups alike! You can hire the cinema for just £17.50 an hour, making it ideal for movie marathons, birthday parties and romantic screenings. Find out more here.
