Unleash your creativity and join our vibrant Screenwriters Group led by award- winning screenwriter and film producer Enni Red. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced writer, you’ll find a supportive local community to nurture your talents that meets once a month here in the Gregson Cafe Bar.
Each session offers a perfect blend of individual writing time and group discussions, allowing you to develop your unique voice. At our monthly sessions you’ll also be able enjoy creative exercises in idea generation, script pitching, character development, and dialogue writing.
As the group progresses, local actors may bring your words to life in table read sessions. All you need is your imagination and enthusiasm! Meet fellow writers, share ideas, and take your screenwriting skills to the next level in this free, monthly workshop organised by The Bay International Film Festival.
The session is very informal and takes place in the Cafe Bar. You can stay as long as you like – you don’t need to stay for the full session. You can get lunch whilst you’re here in the Cafe Bar.

About the facilitator:
Enni Red is an award-winning screenwriter and film producer with over 15 years of experience in several countries. She holds an MA in Screenwriting from Screen Academy Scotland and a PhD in Film Studies from Lancaster University. Enni has written scripts for theatre, TV, and film, and has produced seven award-winning short films. She previously ran a similar writing group in Lancaster before COVID.
Currently teaching film students at Lancaster University, Enni will bring a wealth of knowledge and a supportive collaboration style to the group.
