Lancaster Open Research Share

28 October @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Event Series (See All)

18+

The Lancaster Open Research Share is an informal, welcoming forum for anyone interested in research and knowledge sharing — from postgraduate students and academics to independent scholars and writers.

It offers a relaxed, supportive space to present and discuss work-in-progress, with no need to be fully prepared. The focus is on sharing ideas, exploring passions, and supporting one another through challenges such as writing, publishing, or planning future projects. It’s also a great opportunity to practise presentations, job interviews, or vivas in a friendly environment.

Contributions can be as short as five minutes or up to 30 minutes, depending on what you’d like to share. Whether you’re discussing recent readings, seeking feedback, or simply looking to connect with others, the Open Research Share is a space to try out ideas, gain fresh perspectives, and grow in confidence. Everyone is welcome —just bring your curiosity and a willingness to engage.

If you’d like to present a topic please send me an email in advance: drjsmith@mailbox.org

About Group Lead, Janet

I’m originally from Germany and used to work as a nurse before moving to the
UK. After studying religion, philosophy, and gender & women’s studies, I’ve just
completed a PhD in Philosophy at Lancaster. I’m really looking forward to
meeting others who love to think, care, and share!
