The “one man band” on acoustic guitar returns to the Gregson!

Described as ‘a master of the guitar’ by BBC Radio 3 In Tune, as ‘nothing short of phenomenal’ in a recent review, and as a ‘highly recommended artist’ by Celtic Connections, Iago Banet creates stories without words, enthralling audiences as he does so.

Influenced by figures such as Merle Travis, Chet Atkins and Tommy Emmanuel, Iago has released three studio albums and performed sell-out shows across the country, including a stint at the Gregson for the 2023 Lancaster Music Festival. 

Iago has played and recorded with multiple bands across Spain and the UK,  and now returns to the Gregson for the first time since Lancaster Music Festival 2023, bringing his incredible jazz, blues, country, rock and folk infused fingerstyle guitar.

Doors 7pm

About Iago:

Iago Banet is a Galician musician who forged his career in the UK. He has played and recorded with multiple bands and toured Spain and the UK, demonstrating his extraordinary talent through styles including fingerstyle, gypsy jazz, blues, rock, country, dixieland, swing, Tex-Mex, pop and folk.

Influenced by figures such as Merle Travis, Chet Atkins and Tommy Emmanuel, he has released three studio albums and has carried out several highly successful tours throughout the UK; which have included multiple sell-out shows and a fantastic reception from audiences.

He has appeared on BBC Radio 3 In Tune twice and has featured on BBC Radio 2’s The Blues Show with Cerys Matthews.

He has performed with artists like Jethro Tull, Josh Smith (Joe Bonamassa), Mark Flanagan (Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra), Jack Broadbent and Clive Carroll, amongst others.
