Access at the Gregson

We want everyone to be comfortable and enjoy great community and cultural events at the Gregson.

When people know what to expect about where they are visiting, they can feel more comfortable. This detailed information is to help you plan your visit.

All events at the Gregson should always:
  • Have clear accessible entrances/exits
  • Have wheelchair reserved spaces
  • Allow assistance dogs
  • Have some seating at the side of the room, even if a standing gig.

Click on the boxes below to find out more about accessibility here. In these pages, you can also watch/listen to a video that will audio describe each space.

Scroll further down for more info on using access features on this website.

Using this Website

The website has an accessibility widget via userway.org that helps you make changes to the website to best meet your needs e.g. larger text. To use this, please click the purple person in the far right hand corner of your screen.

The access information on our website was informed by community consultation led by Dr Rachael Eastham with Maria Major. This process involved a questionnaire, completed by 70 people, and a walkaround focus group in the Gregson. Read the Comfy Cosy report here. This work was developed further by the Gregson’s Access & Wellbeing Volunteer Hub with special thanks to key volunteers Kirsten Freiesleben and Gill Mason.
